International Mariachi and Charrería Meeting Returns to Jalisco

Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico – A celebration of Mexican culture is on its way, as the 32nd Encuentro Internacional del Mariachi y la Charrería (International Mariachi and Charrería Meeting) returns to Jalisco. From August 27 to September 7, 2025, the state will be filled with the joyous sounds of mariachi music and the captivating displays of horsemanship. The annual festival, which began in 1994, is a cherished tradition that honors two of Mexico’s most beloved cultural treasures: mariachi and charrería.

A Global Gathering of Talent

This prestigious event draws top mariachi groups, as well as skilled charro teams, from throughout Mexico and around the world. Over the 12-day festival, attendees can look forward to a diverse range of activities, including concerts, galas, and equestrian shows held at some of Jalisco’s most famous landmarks.

Highlights of the 2025 event include:

  • Mariachi Galas at the Degollado Theater: Experience a magical night as the world’s best mariachis perform alongside the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra.
  • Charrería Championships: Witness the incredible artistry and athleticism of this national sport at charro arenas throughout Guadalajara and other parts of Jalisco.
  • Concerts in Magical Towns and Puerto Vallarta: Enjoy the music in stunning natural and colonial settings like Tequila, Tlaquepaque, Lagos de Moreno, and Puerto Vallarta.
  • Free Public Galas: These outdoor performances in Guadalajara’s public squares offer a fantastic way for everyone to enjoy the international talent for free.
  • Sung Masses: The rich sounds of mariachi will add a special touch to religious ceremonies in historic temples.

The event also features Mexican kermés and popular festivals, complete with traditional food, live music, and a cheerful atmosphere for the whole family.
