Vallarta Symphony Orchestra Autumn Concerts, November 1 and 2

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The Vallarta Symphony Orchestra invites music lovers to Ein neuer Morgen, or “A New Morning,” a celebration of German Romantic music. Led by the skilled hand of Maestro Aquiles Morales, these concerts promise an evening of captivating sound and emotion.

The performances will feature an exceptional lineup of international guest artists, including violinist Andrew Sords, cellist John Walz, and sopranos Cecilia Eguiarte and Kelly Wenz.

The orchestra will present a rich program that includes the passionate Brahms’s Double Concerto, the gentle poetry of Strauss’s Four Songs, Op. 27, the dreamy Rusalka’s Moonsong, and the cheerful Puccini’s Musetta Waltz.

Meet the Distinguished Guest Artists

The concerts will be a rare opportunity to see two of classical music’s most respected collaborators: violinist Andrew Sords and cellist John Walz. Sords, a virtuoso known for his ability to charm audiences worldwide, has earned praise for his exceptional technique and emotional depth. Walz, a student of the legendary Pierre Fournier, has performed as a soloist with over 150 orchestras and is a founding member of the Pacific Trio. Together, their performances are celebrated for blending technical brilliance with expressive power.

Joining them are two highly acclaimed sopranos. Mexican soprano Cecilia Eguiarte has made a name for herself on both national and international stages. A graduate of UNAM with honors, she has received top awards in competitions like the Francisco Araiza and the Metropolitan Opera House. Praised for her lyrical voice, she recently made a successful European debut as Cio-Cio-San in Madame Butterfly.

New York-based soprano Kelly Wenz brings her broad experience from concerts, musicals, and operas to the stage. She has performed at prestigious venues like the National Opera Center and has been featured as a soloist internationally. A dedicated educator, Wenz also serves as an Education and Outreach Coordinator for the NJ Opera Theater. Her diverse talents and commitment to music make her a wonderful addition to the orchestra.
