High Season for International Cruises Begins in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta is officially entering its high season for international cruise tourism this October, with 20 scheduled ship arrivals expected to bring a major boost to the city’s economy. Five of these arrivals will be double dockings, when two cruise ships call at port on the same day, creating busy and exciting days for the destination.

The season begins Friday, October 3, with the Island Princess and the Caribbean Princess arriving together. The following week will see the Navigator of the Seas on October 7, followed by another double arrival on the 8th with the Royal Princess and the Nieuw Amsterdam.

The pace continues mid-month with two more double arrivals: the Eurodam and the Sapphire Princess on October 12, then the Carnival Panorama and Navigator of the Seas on October 14. The fourth week will welcome a steady flow of ships, including the Nieuw Amsterdam on the 21st, Royal Princess on the 22nd, Norwegian Jade on the 23rd, Ruby Princess on the 24th, and Island Princess on the 25th.

The final week of October will be equally active. The Norwegian Encore docks on the 26th, followed by the month’s last double arrival on the 28th with the Carnival Panorama and Navigator of the Seas. The Norwegian Bliss visits on the 29th, Norwegian Jade on the 30th, and the Coral Princess closes out the month on the 31st.

Shipping agent Carlos Gerard Guzmán emphasized the importance of the cruise season, stating, “Once again this year, our port becomes a meeting point for thousands of travelers from around the world who come to discover the magic of our bay, the warmth of our people, and the unique experiences that distinguish this destination.”

He added that beyond its economic impact, cruise tourism strengthens community pride and reinforces Puerto Vallarta’s identity as one of the most welcoming destinations in Mexico.

Cruise tourism represents a significant source of revenue nationwide. According to the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), Mexico remains one of the most popular destinations in the world, attracting millions of cruise visitors each year. Their spending on excursions, dining, shopping, and services directly benefits local businesses and supports economic growth in port cities like Puerto Vallarta.
