Essential Water and Drainage Repairs Boost Community Well-being

Puerto Vallarta is flowing into the new year with a renewed commitment to excellent municipal services. During the first week of December (December 1-7), the hardworking teams at SEAPAL Vallarta accomplished remarkable progress by completing 164 repairs to the city’s essential drinking water and drainage networks.

This exceptional effort brought the total number of operational actions on the hydraulic infrastructure to 325, truly reflecting the priority placed on essential services by Mayor Luis Munguía’s “Government of Good.” This dedication ensures greater well-being for all families across the municipality.

The highlight of the week’s strategic work was a major operation focused on large-scale drainage of main pipes. This crucial maneuver is vital for maintaining the high quality of water delivered to homes, particularly in the northern areas of Puerto Vallarta.

To ensure minimal inconvenience for residents, these specialized operations were intelligently scheduled and carried out under the cover of night. Attention was centered on the canal located where Avenida Politécnico Nacional meets 16 de Septiembre, where controlled drainage was performed to maximize the effectiveness of this maintenance activity.

Maintaining seamless service is a clear goal for the dedicated Potable Water Distribution team. Their swift pace resulted in successfully addressing 116 water leaks and replacing 25 broken pipes. In a comprehensive approach to street maintenance, they completed 76 pothole repairs immediately following their initial interventions, restoring the integrity of the roads. The team also conducted 47 various maintenance tasks that were both preventive and corrective, ensuring the system remains robust for the community.

The Wastewater Collection Department also made significant strides in bolstering the sanitation infrastructure. Their team repaired 19 broken pipes, addressed 14 drainage leaks, and efficiently cleared 7 clogged drains, improving flow and preventing potential issues.

Their focused work also included 17 necessary manhole cleanings and 4 septic tank cleanings. These preventive actions are all crucial components that contribute to the smooth operation and long-term health of the city’s sanitation system.

The sheer volume and strategic nature of this work demonstrate the Municipal Government’s proactive approach to infrastructure, ensuring its foundational services are strong and reliable for all Puerto Vallarta residents.
