Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Nacho Daddy is ringing in the new year with a spectacular lineup of entertainment in the heart of Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romantica. This local landmark, famous for its signature “Mex-Tex” cuisine and spacious sports bar, remains a cornerstone of the Basilio Badillo social scene by blending a high-energy atmosphere with world-class performances.
The festivities begin tonight, Friday, January 2, as The Texas Embassy Blues Band takes over the air-conditioned upstairs theater. For 17 years, frontman Sean Moore and his ensemble of talented local musicians have drawn crowds that often stretch down the sidewalk. Starting at 8:30 pm, guests can expect a soulful journey through the classics of Joe Cocker and Ray Charles. With no admission fee, it remains one of the most accessible and high-quality ways to enjoy live music in Old Town.

The energy shifts toward comedy and vocal prowess on Saturday evening with the year’s first performance of She. He. Him! This new show features the powerhouse vocals of Amy Armstrong and the comedic flair of Sargento Dan, all under the guidance of award-winning music director Mark Hartman. The show bridges generational gaps through a mix of Broadway standards and pop hits, prioritizing authentic showmanship and sharp wit.
For those seeking a more reflective experience, Sunday, January 4, offers a rare opportunity to witness the profound beauty of Portuguese Fado. The artistic company Tromba Vetusta, led by vocalist Alejandra Matus, will perform an acoustic tribute to legends like Amália Rodrigues. Set against a backdrop of candlelight, the ensemble – featuring violin, guitar, and accordion – creates a deep, emotional connection that highlights the cultural diversity found within Vallarta’s arts community.
Looking ahead to Monday, January 5, the venue welcomes the highly anticipated opening of Charcuterie BROAD. This cabaret stars the legendary Gouda Gabor, who is celebrating her 8th season in the city and her 58th year in show business. Accompanied by the Taleggio Trio, Ms. Gabor delivers a masterclass in live-music drag performance, honoring icons such as Peggy Lee and Dusty Springfield.
Whether visitors arrive early to catch a game on the high-definition satellite TVs or stay late for the theater productions, Nacho Daddy continues to prove why it is a premier destination for both residents and travelers. Tickets for all shows are available at the venue or online via Eventbrite.

Open daily from 11 am to 12 am for lunch, dinner, live music and lots of fun, this popular south side hangout is located at Basilio Badillo #287, only two blocks off the beach in the heart of the Romantic Zone.
