Puerto Vallarta, México – On March 2, 2026, the Black and White Gala returns to Puerto Vallarta for an evening where elegance meets purpose. Benefiting the Vallarta School for Girls, this highly anticipated event will take place from 7 to 10 pm at the stunning oceanfront Sayan Tropical Condominiums, welcoming guests for a night of generosity and lasting impact.
Inspired by the grand charity galas that began in the late 19th century to support schools and hospitals, the Black and White Gala continues that proud tradition. Its mission is clear: raise essential funds to expand educational opportunities for young girls and strengthen the community through learning.
Now in its fourth year, the Vallarta School for Girls was founded by Francie Nguyen and Cecil Kerfont to provide underprivileged girls with a supportive and empowering academic environment. The school goes beyond traditional classroom instruction, offering training in health, financial literacy, work readiness, bilingual education, and personal development. The goal is to prepare students to become confident, self-reliant young women.

After two successful years at Villa Tita, the growing popularity of the gala called for a larger venue. This year marks an exciting new chapter, as Sayan Tropical has generously donated its multi-level beachfront space, allowing up to 200 guests to attend and helping the event reach new fundraising heights.
According to Francie Nguyen, Founder and Board President, events like the Black and White Gala are vital to the school’s daily operations. Funds raised help cover tuition, uniforms, and essential resources that make education accessible to students who need it most.
The results are already inspiring. Last year, the school celebrated its first graduating class of nine young women. This year, four more students will complete their studies. With the upcoming opening of a new campus, even more girls will gain access to quality education and expanded opportunities.
The school’s capital campaign to build that new campus is moving steadily toward its $500,000 goal. In addition to core academics, students participate in volunteer-led programs in music, photography, and health education. Faculty members also continue their professional development through ongoing training and English-language instruction, strengthening the school’s long-term foundation.
Guests at the gala will enjoy passed appetizers, a buffet dinner, and a full open bar, all set against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. A dynamic silent auction will feature unique offerings, including private concerts, while live entertainment keeps the energy high throughout the evening. Kevin Anthony will serve as host, with musical performances by Diego Guerrero + Los Martinis, Kim Kuzma, Effie, Alison Lo, and Kim Archer. The dance floor will round out a night designed to celebrate both community and cause.
Individual tickets and tables of four or eight are available online, with discounted pricing for larger tables. Those unable to attend are encouraged to consider making a donation.
The Vallarta School for Girls is funded by the Girls Education Fund, a Puerto Vallarta-based nonprofit and registered 501(c)(3) organization in the United States. Donations from U.S. citizens are tax deductible, and Canadian donors may receive tax receipts through CanadaHelps.org by designating their gift to the Vallarta School for Girls from the drop-down menu.
Through generosity and shared commitment, the Black and White Gala continues to open doors for young women and build a brighter future for Puerto Vallarta.
