Puerto Vallarta welcomed strong cruise activity this March, with three double ship arrivals scheduled to bring more than 40,000 passengers and crew members to the destination. These visits highlight continued confidence from the international cruise industry and reinforce the city’s reputation as a trusted port of call on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
The first double arrival took place on March 18, when the Royal Princess and Norwegian Bliss docked together, marking the return of regular visits by Princess Cruises to Puerto Vallarta. The same two vessels are scheduled to return side by side on March 25, followed by another double arrival on March 31, when the Carnival Panorama will join the Royal Princess at port.
Across these three dates, more than 40,000 people – including passengers and crew – are expected to pass through the port. The Royal Princess has capacity for 3,979 passengers and 1,339 crew members, while the Norwegian Bliss can accommodate up to 4,788 passengers and 1,602 crew. The Carnival Panorama adds space for 4,008 passengers and 1,450 crew members.
Each arrival delivers meaningful economic benefits for Puerto Vallarta. Visitors typically spend time exploring the Malecón, dining at local restaurants, shopping for crafts, and booking tours and outdoor adventures. These activities support businesses across the tourism sector, from transportation providers to tour operators and hospitality staff.
Scheduling and port operations are coordinated by the Administración del Sistema Portuario Nacional, which oversees cruise logistics and ensures safe, efficient arrivals. This month’s schedule also coincides with the 60th anniversary of Princess Cruises, a milestone that highlights the company’s long-standing relationship with Puerto Vallarta, where it has maintained a presence on cruise itineraries since 1965.
With multiple double arrivals and continued partnerships with leading cruise lines, Puerto Vallarta remains a preferred destination for international travelers, delivering steady visitor traffic and ongoing support for the region’s tourism-driven economy.
