This year, the library is launching its annual toy drive to help make Día del Niño a joyful and memorable occasion for children in Puerto Vallarta.
Children’s Day, known as Día del Niño, has been celebrated across Mexico since 1924. The holiday was established during the administration of Álvaro Obregón and supported by Education Minister José Vasconcelos. Their vision highlighted the importance of children’s rights and emphasized creating nurturing spaces where young people could learn, grow, and build happy memories. Since then, April 30 has become a special day dedicated to recognizing the value of children in society and promoting their well-being.
At Los Mangos Library, organizers hope to make this year’s celebration especially meaningful for local families.
