Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Travel to Puerto Vallarta is becoming more convenient with the launch of three new direct Volaris routes connecting the popular beach destination with Aguascalientes, Puebla, and San Luis Potosí. The new services expand travel options for visitors and residents alike while supporting tourism, business activity, and economic growth throughout the region.
The routes are part of a larger expansion by Volaris across Jalisco that introduced 10 new flights. The launch was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Guadalajara International Airport, where state officials and airline representatives marked the beginning of the new connections.
While 7 of the new routes operate from Guadalajara – including services to Salt Lake City, Detroit, Reynosa, Querétaro, Zacatecas, Los Mochis, and San Luis Potosí – the additions in Puerto Vallarta are particularly significant for travelers seeking easier access to Mexico’s Pacific coast.
According to Jalisco Tourism Secretary Michelle Fridman Hirsch, expanded air connectivity plays an important role in attracting visitors, strengthening tourism, and creating new opportunities for economic development. Additional flight options also benefit leisure travelers, business passengers, and the meetings and conventions industry.
The new non-stop routes provide direct links between Puerto Vallarta and three important regional markets. By reducing travel times and eliminating connections, the flights make it easier for visitors to reach one of Mexico’s most popular vacation destinations while also improving mobility for residents and business travelers.
The expansion comes as Jalisco continues to strengthen its presence in key international markets. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Volaris’ Guadalajara-Seattle route, which has helped foster tourism, cultural exchange, and economic ties between Jalisco and the Pacific Northwest since its launch.
Demand for travel between the two regions continues to grow. Volaris now operates two daily flights between Guadalajara and Seattle, while Aeroméxico is expected to add another service in the coming weeks. Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines also maintain regular connections between Seattle and Puerto Vallarta.
Together, these airlines now provide more than 30 weekly flights between Seattle and Jalisco, supporting a steady flow of visitors, trade, and business opportunities. The increased service reflects the growing importance of Jalisco as both a tourism destination and an economic hub with strong international connections.
The combination of expanded domestic and international air service positions Puerto Vallarta and the state of Jalisco for continued growth. With easier access from several key Mexican cities and stronger links to major U.S. markets, the region is well-prepared to welcome more visitors and support a successful travel season.
As air connectivity continues to grow, Puerto Vallarta further strengthens its standing as one of Mexico’s leading tourism destinations, offering travelers convenient access to its beaches, culture, cuisine, and natural beauty.
