Acapulco Season 4 Starts Filming in Puerto Vallarta This Month

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The fourth season of Apple TV+’s bilingual comedy series Acapulco is set to begin filming in Puerto Vallarta this month and conclude in December.

This popular series, inspired by the 2017 film How to Be a Latin Lover, features a mix of Spanish and English dialogue. Created by Austin Winsberg, Eduardo Cisneros, and Jason Shuman, Acapulco is led by showrunner Sam Laybourne and will see Jaime Eliezer Karas returning as director for the upcoming season.

Following the events of season three, where the older Máximo (Eugenio Derbez) revisits an unrecognizable Las Colinas and younger Máximo (Enrique Arrizón) makes difficult choices in 1985 to climb the corporate ladder, fans can anticipate more high-stakes drama.

The third season touched on themes of ambition, loss, and redemption, with the younger Máximo jeopardizing relationships in his pursuit of success and the older Máximo attempting to buy Las Colinas and restore it to its former glory.

In the upcoming season, viewers can expect a continuation of the intricate plotlines introduced in the third installment. The older Máximo will be grappling with the challenges of revitalizing the once-glorious Las Colinas resort, while the younger Máximo will likely face the consequences of his past ambition and questionable decisions.

While the specific details of the fourth season’s storyline remain under wraps, it is clear that the show’s trademark blend of humor, drama, and cultural insights will be on full display. Fans can anticipate higher stakes, increased risks, and a deeper exploration of the characters’ motivations and relationships.

The talented cast of Acapulco is expected to reprise their roles, including Eugenio Derbez, Enrique Arrizón, Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Vanessa Bauche, Raphael Alejandro, Camila Perez, Regina Reynoso, Chord Overstreet, and Jessica Collins.

As in previous seasons, Acapulco will continue to showcase the beauty of Puerto Vallarta. Iconic locations across the city will likely feature throughout the production. In the first season, the Barceló Puerto Vallarta Hotel served as the setting for the Las Colinas Resort, while the Westin Resort & Spa became the base for seasons two and three. Fans can expect to see these stunning backdrops once again in the upcoming season.

The series has already become a beloved representation of the Banderas Bay region, and its continued presence in the area is a testament to both its popularity and Puerto Vallarta’s appeal as a filming location.
