Atemoztli Ballet 57th Anniversary Gala, August 25

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The Atemoztli Ballet will commemorate its 57th anniversary with a free gala performance at Teatro Vallarta on Sunday, August 25th, at 4 pm. This captivating showcase promises to immerse audiences in the rich tapestry of Mexican culture.

At a recent press conference, Christian Preciado Cázares, director of Tourism and Economic Development, spoke about the group’s longstanding legacy since its founding in 1967. The performance will feature dances representing various regions of Mexico, with a capacity for 900 attendees. Tickets are available at no cost, thanks to the support of the Vallarta Theater.

Santiago García, the ballet’s general coordinator, shared that this year’s performance will feature a diverse repertoire, from the rhythmic traditions of Los Concheros to the poignant dances of the Tarahumara people.

Adding to the evening’s splendor, former students and the esteemed maestro Gregorio Corrales will join the company on stage. The ballet will also transport attendees to the heartlands of Guerrero, Veracruz, and Jalisco, culminating in a guest performance by the Huichol folkloric ballet from Durango, led by maestro Armando Vázquez Hinojosa.

Arturo Ortega Flores, the artistic coordinator, emphasized that this gala is not only a celebration of the ballet’s 57-year history but also a tribute to the people of Vallarta for their ongoing support. The event will also honor the late founder, engineer Ernesto Navarro Lozano, who devoted his life to promoting Mexican folklore internationally.

Though admission is free, you must have a ticket to attend the Atemoztli Ballet’s 57th anniversary gala.
