Coca-Cola Expands Jugos del Valle Plant with M Investment

Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico – The Mexican Coca-Cola Industry (IMCC) is making a major commitment to the state of Jalisco with a new $85 million investment to expand its Jugos del Valle–Santa Clara plant. This significant project, announced at a recent groundbreaking ceremony, is set to create hundreds of jobs and strengthen the regional economy.

The investment, valued at approximately 1.5 billion Mexican pesos (US$85 million), will add two new production lines for non-carbonated beverages, juices, and nectars. This expansion will not only increase the plant’s production capacity but also improve national distribution from its strategic location in Lagos de Moreno.

The company anticipates that once the new lines are fully operational, the project will generate around 700 direct jobs. The expansion is also expected to benefit local suppliers in the Los Altos region, including those in packaging, logistics, and specialized services, further supporting the agroindustrial supply chain.

The groundbreaking event was attended by key officials, including Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro and Lagos de Moreno Mayor Édgar González Chávez. Juan Carlos Jaramillo, General Director of Jugos del Valle–Santa Clara, emphasized that the project is a result of strong collaboration between the company and all levels of government.

Governor Lemus praised the investment, stating, “The Mexican Coca-Cola Industry is betting on Jalisco as one of the most important states for further development.” This sentiment was echoed by Denisse Gaona, vice president of non-carbonated beverages for Coca-Cola Mexico, who noted the expansion supports the company’s efforts to diversify its product portfolio to meet changing consumer preferences.

Gaona also highlighted the broader economic impact of the IMCC, which includes Coca-Cola Mexico and its eight bottling partners. The system, she said, generates over 106,000 formal jobs nationwide and contributes nearly 2% of Mexico’s national GDP, showing its deep-rooted commitment to the country’s economic growth.
