Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The Puerto Vallarta College Challenge (PVCC) is back for its ninth edition, showcasing top-tier U.S. college softball talent competing under the warm Mexican sun. This highly anticipated tournament will take place over two sessions, February 6-8 and February 12-15, at the Nancy Almaraz Field within the Unidad Deportiva Agustín Flores Contreras (Municipal Sports Stadium).
Since its debut in 2015, the PVCC has grown into a premier event for launching the softball season. The 2025 lineup features ten outstanding teams, with preseason-ranked Oklahoma State and Florida State leading Session 1, while Boise State and BYU headline Session 2.
Oklahoma State’s Cowgirls, perennial Women’s College World Series (WCWS) contenders since 2019, kick off their season with matchups against Louisiana Tech and Northern Colorado. Meanwhile, Florida State, a powerhouse with recent WCWS Championship finals appearances, looks to build on its stellar record after narrowly missing the national title in 2021 and 2023.
Session 2 continues the action with Boise State aiming to extend its postseason momentum and secure another Mountain West championship. BYU, alongside teams like Illinois State and North Dakota State, adds to the excitement, making this a must-watch event for softball fans.
