Playa Las Animas: Accessible only by boat, this beach day is an adventure of its own. You can catch a water taxi around the Los Muertos Pier and have lunch at one of the beach restaurants that specialize in fresh seafood.
Playa Mismaloya: Made famous by the filming of the movie “The Night of the Iguana,” this beach is surrounded by jungle-covered hills and offers a stunning natural backdrop. It’s a great spot for snorkeling and the nearby Mismaloya River provides opportunities for eco-tourism and wildlife spotting.
Playa Conchas Chinas: A truly beautiful little beach known for its clear blue waters and picturesque rock formations. It’s a great spot for swimming and sunbathing, and the nearby Conchas Chinas neighborhood offers a more upscale and quieter beach experience.
No matter which beach you visit in Puerto Vallarta, remember to use good beach sense: watch for flag warnings, reapply sunscreen frequently, and do not swim at night.
