The event, teeming with over 10,000 attendees and 600 exhibitors from 120 countries, proved to be a springboard for strengthening Puerto Vallarta’s position as a leading Mexican cruise destination.
The delegation from Puerto Vallarta’s Tourism Trust, alongside representatives from “Ports of México” and other Mexican cruise destinations, showcased the country’s diverse offerings to the global cruise industry. This strategic collaboration fostered new connections with major cruise lines and solidified existing partnerships.
Puerto Vallarta’s allure as a cruise destination stems from its advantageous location, modern infrastructure, excellent air connectivity, and a captivating medley of tourist attractions. Renowned for its security and the warm hospitality of its people, the city boasts the vibrant Puerto Magico terminal, offering easy access to pristine beaches, upscale shopping, and a vibrant nightlife scene. A 10-minute taxi ride unlocks the charm of the historic city center and its iconic Malecón, allowing cruise passengers to savor the complete Puerto Vallarta experience.
The city’s commitment to the cruise industry is evident. The first quarter of 2024 alone witnessed over 177,000 cruise passengers arriving on 58 international ships, generating an estimated economic windfall of over 21 million USD. April itself promises to be a banner month, with the Puerto Vallarta Maritime Terminal welcoming 23 international cruises, including multiple triple arrivals – a testament to the city’s growing popularity.
