Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Gloria Fiona, accompanied by her 9-piece live band, delivered a remarkable tribute to musical superstar Adele on February 24th to a sold-out crowd at The Palm Cabaret. We heard many of Adele’s hit songs and enjoyed Gloria’s celebration of one of music’s favorite entertainers. This extraordinary show returns to The Palm on March 7th and 9th at 6 pm.
Adele is an English singer-songwriter who is known for her mezzo-soprano vocals and sentimental songwriting. She has received numerous accolades including 16 Grammy Awards, 12 Brit Awards (including three for British Album of the Year), an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award.
Gloria Fiona’s Adele Tribute Show is one of the best performances that I’ve seen all season. Gloria and her team of musicians have worked very hard to put together this high-quality production.
In paying homage to such an extraordinary vocalist like Adele, most would fall short, but Gloria was phenomenal! Her appearance, her choreography, her vocals and even her enthusiasm matched the legend. The band was similar to an orchestra composed of violins, cello, bass, guitar, drums and piano. This fabulous group of musicians skillfully accompanied Gloria and her 2 background singers.
Gloria’s passion over the past few years has been to create a tribute show worthy of the superstar whom she wanted to represent on stage. Tonight’s show was a brilliant fulfillment of that dream. Every song was amazing and the audience went absolutely wild over the show.
Accompanied by her band, Gloria confidently opened the performance with a fantastic interpretation of Adele’s signature song, Hello. She and band delivered hits like Make You Feel My Love, All I Ask, Hiding My Heart, Skyfall, Someone Like You, Send My Love, Easy on Me, When We Were Young, Rolling in the Deep and more! Each song was followed by enthusiastic applause. And when Gloria closed the show everyone leapt to their feet, cheering and applauding. As an encore, she treated us to the popular hit, Set Fire to the Rain.
During the performance, we also saw videos of Gloria’s life and her transformation into Adele as she prepared for this show. She shared how she gained the confidence to fulfill her dream of sharing Adele’s music with Puerto Vallarta. The whole evening was a beautiful experience and a dream come true, not only for Gloria, but for all of us who love music and a beautiful story.
When Gloria Fiona arrived in Mexico a few years ago from Italy, she didn’t know anyone, she didn’t speak English or Spanish and she had no contacts in the entertainment community. She then joined the popular all-girl band, Las Mambas, before moving on to perform her own schedule of shows in various venues around Vallarta this season. You’ve come a long way, Gloria! From the moment Gloria Fiona & her 9 piece band walked on stage, you could feel the energy & excitement surrounding them.
