Guadalajara, Mexico – Jalisco’s top youth and amateur athletes recently gathered at Casa Jalisco to celebrate an extraordinary milestone: securing the state’s 25th consecutive title at the CONADE National Olympics 2026. Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro hosted the delegation of competitors, coaches, and families to honor a performance that shattered previous national records.
The blue and yellow delegation dominated the multisport event, held across multiple host regions including Puebla, Jalisco, Tlaxcala, Nayarit, San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato, and Yucatán. Jalisco’s athletes claimed the absolute top spot on the leaderboard by capturing 501 gold, 320 silver, and 295 bronze medals, accumulating an unprecedented total of 1,116 medals. The state also secured championships in 24 individual sports and placed in the top three across 39 different disciplines, solidifying its two-decade legacy as the premier sports model in Mexico.
The final standings from the 2026 National Olympics highlight the substantial margin of Jalisco’s victory over its closest competitors:

During the reception, Governor Lemus Navarro emphasized that the historic achievement belongs firmly to the competitors and their support systems, noting that the role of government is simply to provide the necessary tools. To back this commitment, the state doubled its budget for economic incentives for athletes and coaches this year, increasing the fund from 20 million to 40 million pesos.
The administration is also actively working to decentralize athletic training, ensuring that youth in all 125 municipalities have access to high-quality facilities. Current infrastructure projects include the El Grullo Aquatic Center, upgrades to the Rowing and Canoeing School in Zapotlán el Grande, and a new High Performance Center in Puerto Vallarta.
Governor Lemus Navarro observed that maintaining a consistent sports agenda across successive administrations has yielded benefits far beyond the podium, helping to shape hardworking, disciplined citizens among the state’s 9 million residents.
As a token of appreciation from the 2,300 athletes representing 54 disciplines, cycling multi-medalist and double Pan American gold medalist Ximena Alejandra Valentín Ceja presented an award to the Governor. The ceremony was attended by prominent sports figures, including diving standout sisters Mía, Lía, and Suri Cueva Lobato, alongside key officials such as Andrea Blanco Calderón, Coordinator of Social Development Strategy, and Carlos Alberto González Cisneros, Director of Competitive Sports at CODE Jalisco.
Looking forward, this historic victory establishes a powerful foundation for the future of regional sports as Jalisco turns its focus toward maintaining its national leadership. With expanded financial backing, modern sports facilities underway across the state, and a deeply rooted culture of discipline, the delegation is well-prepared to inspire the next generation of local talent. The historic 2026 performance serves as a clear reminder that when a community unites to support its youth, the path leads straight to the top of the podium.
