Joining Joelle is Buwa, a rising star with powerful soul and R&B influences, drawing inspiration from artists like Whitney Houston, Brenda Fassie and Billy Porter. About the Artists
Joëlle Rabu: A Canadian singer and actor, Joëlle Rabu has captivated audiences worldwide since her debut in the hit musical Piaf: Her Songs Her Loves in 1983. Known for her passionate voice, eclectic repertoire, and engaging stage presence, Joëlle has released eight independent recordings, available at joellerabu.com. She is thrilled to return to Puerto Vallarta and introduce audiences to the extraordinary talent of Buwa. This fall, Joëlle will premiere her new play, I don’t belong here, where she portrays twelve characters living in a dementia care facility.
Buwa: Originally from Nigeria and now based on Vancouver Island, Canada, Buwa is a rising star in the contemporary soul scene. With an impressive vocal range and captivating stage charm, he draws inspiration from musical giants while forging his own unique style. Buwa has released two EPs, Olu and Road Signs, and several singles, available at buwa.ca. This summer, Buwa will be playing the lead role in Kinky Boots on Vancouver Island.
Nico Rhodes: An award-winning composer, arranger, pianist and music director, Nico Rhodes’ innovative arrangements bring a fresh perspective to classic songs, creating a vibrant and fascinating musical experience. Nico is thrilled to return to Mexico after completing a year-long tour of dozens of Canadian and US theatres with his new hit show Piano Heist.
