Lorena took a sabbatical year away from ‘Sin City’ in 2015 and presented her show, Married and Looking at The Casa Karma Red Room. Audiences loved the show and Lorena was Puerto Vallarta’s new musical star!
Lorena Peril returns to Act2PV in February with her new show, From Housekeeper to Headliner, on February 12, 16 & 17 at 7:30 pm.
Lorena has made it to the top as a Vegas entertainer. She was looking to take a little break from Vegas when by chance, in walks Nathan Frye, then-manager of The Red Room. Throwing caution to the wind, she turned down a lucrative job in Las Vegas and joined the Vallarta entertainment scene for the winter, and returned for several years with guest appearances at Act2PV.
So just how good is Lorena Peril? Well, imagine buying a ticket to hear Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Adele or Shakira, and you’re sitting there absolutely thrilled listening to one of those goddesses of song. Well, Lorena Peril is just that good!
After an absence of several years, Lorena returns to Act2PV’s Casa Karma Red Room with her highly acclaimed new show, From Housekeeper to Headliner, a musical adaptation of her uniquely Las Vegas success story.
This new show follows Peril’s four-year stint as a housekeeper in San Francisco to her eventual headlining of a major Las Vegas show! In a fairytale-like story, Peril had been singing while scrubbing toilets and laundering bed sheets. Her natural range and resonance sparked an idea from co-worker Phil Serrano, who was also an aspiring professional guitarist.
Serrano suggested the two perform small gigs around town. The Perilous Partners was born. Then Peril later went on a Carnival Cruise Line trip with her mom and entered the ship’s talent show. She recorded a song in a recording kiosk for ship passengers and submitted it to the company.
Six months later, Peril was a professional singer on the cruise line. Soon after, she moved to Vegas to perform in “American Superstars”, as Christina Aguilera, at the Stratosphere. Lorena also fronted the bands Sunset Strip and Sin City Bad Girls at the then-Shimmer Cabaret at the Las Vegas Hilton. She was hired to headline Luxor’s “Fantasy” show in 2010.
Lorena has spent more than a dozen years, total, in the show, including a break to tour with the stadium version of Grease in Europe. She returned to “Fantasy” in 2016 and has been its headliner ever since.
