Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Las Vegas Headliner, Lorena Peril returned to Act2PV in mid-February with her new show, From Housekeeper to Headliner. After a 6 year absence from Vallarta, there was great excitement and anticipation for Lorena’s new show, and we were not disappointed. All 3 shows were filled to the rafters with adoring fans and Lorena delivered a non-stop exciting performance!
Lorena had made it to the top as a Vegas entertainer when she threw caution to the wind, turning down a lucrative job in Las Vegas and joining the Vallarta entertainment scene for the winter of 2015-2016. She then made guest appearances for several years at Act2PV.
After an absence of 6 years, Lorena returned to Act2PV’s Casa Karma Red Room with her new, highly acclaimed show, From Housekeeper to Headliner, a musical adaptation of her uniquely Las Vegas success story.
This new show follows Peril from her 4-year stint as a housekeeper in San Francisco to her eventual headlining of a major Las Vegas show! In a fairytale-like story, Peril had been singing while scrubbing toilets and laundering bed sheets. Teaming up with her co-worker Phil Serrano, who was also an aspiring professional musician, The Perilous Partners was born.
Peril later went on a Carnival Cruise Line trip, won the ship’s talent show and 6 months later, she was a professional singer on the cruise line. Soon after, she moved to Vegas to perform in American Superstars, as Christina Aguilera, at the Stratosphere going on to also front the bands Sunset Strip and Sin City Bad Girls at the then-Shimmer Cabaret at the Las Vegas Hilton. She was hired to headline Luxor’s Fantasy show in 2010.
Lorena has spent more than a dozen years, total, in the show, including a break to tour with the stadium version of Grease in Europe. She returned to “Fantasy” in 2016 and has been its headliner ever since.
“From Housekeeper to Headliner” is a fascinating evening filled with music, off-the-cuff banter, comedy, storytelling, and breathtaking performances as Peril takes you into her world. From her humble beginnings to becoming a renowned singer, Lorena Peril’s captivating talent and unwavering determination inspire and motivate others to pursue their dreams!
The show opens with a video reenactment of Lorena as a housekeeper and then Lorena takes center stage and delivers an entertaining and inspiring performance! Lorena guides us on her journey with fabulous song, dance and personal stories of struggle and success. From show tunes to Rock n’Roll to Mariachi to Inspirational tunes, we join Lorena as she reminisces with humor, music and personal reflections. We enjoyed songs like, I’m Going to Make You a Star, One Night Only, ‘Joyful, Joyful’, Hips Don’t Lie, Hopelessly Devoted to You and so many more!
Vallarta favorite and Las Vegas entertainer Hannah Brady also joined Lorena with some fantastic songs. During the show, Lorena paid tribute to the singers and comedians who have inspired her career path. She shared her experiences entertaining neighborhoods with a mobile sound system during the 2 years of Covid shutdown.
As the evening came to an end, we were serenaded by the gorgeous song, Never Enough from The Greatest Showman. After another rousing round of applause and a standing ovation, we heard the final number, Don’t Rain on My Parade.
Winner of the Best Local Entertainer Silver State Award and the Outstanding Female Entertainer Las Vegas Fame Award year after year, Lorena Peril is a phenomenal talent and a truly nice person as well!
