Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – As Mexico prepares to vote to legalize cannabis this October, Gold Leaf Smoke Shop, the first store of its kind in Vallarta, opens a second location in Plaza Caracol.
Gold Leaf has been serving Bahía de Banderas in the Romantic Zone with a full selection of smoking accessories, including one-of-a-kind glass pipes, herbal vaporizers, and grinders since 2012.
To celebrate the grand opening of their second location, both the new Plaza Caracol store, located near the McDonald’s entrance of the mall, and the original store on Lázaro Cardenas on the south side of Puerto Vallarta, are offering deep discounts on all merchandise through the end of October.
Gold Leaf herbal grinders are 50% off and electronic devices like the Pax 3 are discounted more than $1,000 Pesos. All glass is at least 20% off, including Mexican artisanal borosilicate glass and imported scientific glass pieces.
While Mexico legalizes marijuana, the opening of a Gold Leaf Smoke Shop in a major shopping center like Plaza Caracol is a real-life example of how the cannabis culture is becoming increasingly normalized in Mexican society.
“It’s been an exciting ride,” says owner Samara Alpern. “When we first opened for business seven years ago, you couldn’t even really find rolling papers at OXXO. Our new location in Plaza Caracol is a big step for us, and Mexico is on the verge of taking a major step with legalization as well.”
The new Gold Leaf Smoke Shop in Plaza Caracol is open seven days a week, 11 am-9 pm Monday-Saturday, and from 12 pm-7 pm on Sundays. The original location, at Lázaro Cárdenas #379, is open Monday-Saturday from 10 am-8 pm. The sale continues at both stores through the end of October.
