New Regional Map Connects Vallarta and Magic Towns

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – A new tourist map is making it easier than ever for visitors and residents to discover the many attractions found in Puerto Vallarta and three of Jalisco’s celebrated Magical Towns. The Puerto Vallarta–Pueblos Mágicos map is the result of a collaborative effort led by the municipal government under Mayor Luis Munguía, working alongside the tourism authorities of San Sebastián del Oeste, Mascota, and Talpa de Allende.

The project was officially introduced during a press conference at The River Café, where Puerto Vallarta Director of Economic Development and Tourism Alejandra Cornejo explained that the initiative is designed to encourage travelers to experience the region as a whole rather than as individual destinations.

She noted that today’s visitors are increasingly looking for varied experiences within a single vacation. With Puerto Vallarta’s Pacific coastline complemented by mountain communities rich in history, culture, traditions, and regional cuisine, travelers can enjoy a diverse itinerary without venturing far.

Cornejo said the map reflects a shared vision among the participating municipalities, combining Puerto Vallarta’s beaches with the scenic mountains and warm hospitality of the surrounding region. By promoting the destinations together, the initiative aims to strengthen the local economy while offering visitors a broader range of vacation experiences.

An initial printing of 10,000 maps has already been distributed in Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, and the participating Magical Towns. Copies are also being made available at tourist information centers, travel fairs, tourism expos, and promotional events. A digital version can be accessed through a QR code, giving travelers convenient access on their mobile devices.

More than a traditional map, the guide includes points of interest, street names, public transportation routes, suggested itineraries, festivals, and other practical information designed to help visitors make the most of their time in the region.

The publication also features a unique community component. For the first time, a regional tourism map includes complimentary promotional space for the Puerto Vallarta Altruistic Network, a coalition of more than 30 nonprofit organizations serving the local community.

Luis Villaseñor, managing director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, expressed his support for the initiative and announced plans to expand the map’s availability at high-traffic locations, including Puerto Vallarta International Airport and the city’s main bus terminal. The Tourism Trust will also promote the participating destinations through its ongoing marketing campaigns.

Representatives from San Sebastián del Oeste, Mascota, and Talpa de Allende welcomed the collaborative effort, saying it will increase awareness of each municipality’s attractions while encouraging visitors to extend their stay and explore more of the region.

To conclude the presentation, tourism officials from the three Magical Towns shared highlights of what visitors can expect, from picturesque mountain scenery and centuries-old religious traditions to mining heritage, regional cuisine, and festivals celebrated throughout the year.

By bringing four distinctive destinations together in one easy-to-use guide, the new tourist map encourages travelers to experience the rich variety that western Jalisco has to offer while supporting tourism across the region.
