Puerto Vallarta Shines at Fitur 2025, Secures Growth Opportunities
At FITUR 2025, Puerto Vallarta Mayor Munguía was honored for promoting tourism in Puerto Vallarta and Jalisco.

Madrid, Spain – Puerto Vallarta concluded its participation the Fitur 2025 International Tourism Fair with resounding success, according to the municipal delegation. Led by Mayor Luis Munguía González, the team actively engaged in a series of activities aimed at showcasing the destination’s diverse offerings, from its natural beauty to its rich culinary and cultural experiences.

Key outcomes included fruitful meetings with tour operators and airlines to negotiate expanded air routes and strengthen international connections. The delegation also prioritized fostering international alliances and promoting sustainable tourism practices.

“Participation in this global forum will significantly enhance Puerto Vallarta’s international appeal, attracting more visitors from key markets like Europe and South America,” Mayor Munguía said. “We anticipate that this will stimulate investment and drive economic growth for the region.”

Exploring Sister City Partnerships
A significant achievement was the exploration of potential Sister City agreements with cities in Spain and Colombia, including Seville, Marbella, Salamanca, San Sebastián, and Santa María. This initiative, spearheaded by Councilors Marcia Bañuelos and Laurel Carrillo, aims to strengthen cultural and tourism exchange, further elevating Puerto Vallarta’s global recognition.

Embracing Film Tourism
Following Governor Pablo Lemus’ successful presentation of the Filma Jalisco project at Fitur, Mayor Munguía expressed full support for positioning Puerto Vallarta as a premier destination for major film productions. He thanked the Governor for prioritizing Puerto Vallarta in his visionary projects, which will contribute to the continued global promotion of the city.

A Collaborative Effort
Mayor Munguía emphasized that the Puerto Vallarta delegation represented not only the municipality but also the state of Jalisco and Mexico as a whole. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment to sustainable tourism development and growth.
