Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – A note from Sandra Cesca, who has lived in Puerto Vallarta for 12 years and has been helping visitors learn more about Vallarta and the Mexican culture since 2009.
“Hi Everyone! Yep, that’s me! Thought it time I write a personal message to you during these trying times. As you all know, the world’s tourism industry has taken a huge hit and Puerto Vallarta is no exception. The beaches are shut down, the streets are empty, and most restaurants closed except for those offering take out or delivery.
I closed Puerto Vallarta Walking Tours until further notice on March 15 due to the Covid 19 virus and mandates from the mayor. It now looks like I will remain closed until sometime in October when the possibility of travel recovery to Puerto Vallarta may begin.
Meanwhile, you have opportunities to virtually visit us by going to my website and perusing all the walking tour photos I have posted there. You can also go to my Blog, Your Cultural Insider, to read about many of the artisans and vendors you have met or will meet when next you visit us.
Jesus, Moises, Paula, Francisco, Lupita, Ada, Miguel, Alex, Hector, Luisa, Manuel, Maria, and Juan (Johnny Bravo) are all wonderful and talented people who have become my friends during the 10 years I have been giving walking tours. Most of their businesses are also now closed. It’s a tough time. There have been many food banks set up to help, but we are all waiting for the time when visitors return.
Until then, I hope you take time to travel through my stories and my photos from your comfy armchair. Stay safe and healthy, love your family, your friends and love yourself. This too shall pass and it will be a new world order facing us when it does.
