Puerto Vallarta is preparing to welcome one of the most anticipated food and drink celebrations of the year: the 2026 PVR Michelada Festival The two-day event is set to take place March 14 and 15, from noon to 11:00 pm, at the Puerto Mágico Maritime Terminal.

Located in the northern hotel zone of Puerto Vallarta, the Puerto Mágico facilities will transform into a lively gathering place for michelada lovers and food fans alike.
The festival brings together top michelada bars from across the region, serving everything from classic cerveza blends to elaborate botanera micheladas piled high with shrimp, aguachile, ceviche, and other savory favorites.
While micheladas take center stage, the food offerings go well beyond the glass. Visitors can expect fresh seafood, grilled specialties, and a wide range of local flavors representing Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas. Over two full days, guests can enjoy delicious drinks, live music, DJs, and a festive atmosphere designed for all ages, including a dedicated family area.
Adding excitement to the weekend are three official competitions: Best Michelada in the Bay, Best Stand, and Most Extreme Michelada. These contests highlight creativity and flavor as exhibitors compete to impress an estimated 5,000 attendees expected throughout the event.
Held in the spacious Puerto Mágico parking area, the venue offers a convenient and well-organized setup that comfortably accommodates both locals and visitors. Admission is completely free, reinforcing the festival’s goal of being an open, welcoming space for social connection and a celebration of Vallarta’s culinary identity.
More than just a tasting event, the PVR Michelada Festival is a social and gastronomic experience where people come together to enjoy good food, good music, and local talent. Whether you’re a dedicated michelada fan, a craft beer enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun weekend with friends and family, this coastal celebration promises something for everyone.
