The Palm Cabaret is thrilled to be the first venue in Puerto Vallarta to bring you The Canadian Comedy Distillery, an award-winning improv comedy group from Canada, every Thursday and Saturday at 6:00 pm in November.
Even more exciting, if you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, engagement or any special occasion, all you need to do is let the front of house staff know and The Canadian Comedy Distillery may just improvise a scene all about YOU! They can re-create how you met your special someone, make up a song about your job and more! Even crazier? No two shows are ever the same, so you can come back again and again!
If you haven’t seen improv comedy happen live before you eyes, you are in for a treat! Think ‘whose Line Is It Anyway’ but with a uniquely Canadian twist. These talented comedians make everything up on the spot based entirely on audience suggestions. Nothing is scripted and nothing is rehearsed, but these hilarious experts know exactly how to take your ideas and weave comedy gold. Some of you may even end up being the stars of the show!
Individually, the members of The Canadian Comedy Distillery have been performing improv comedy for over 20 years each. They all met doing improv at the world renowned Vancouver TheatreSports League and have entertained audiences everywhere from The Bahamas to our Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan.
Diana Frances is a Canadian Screen Award-winning television writer for Corner Gas: Animated who has been nominated for 8 Canadian Comedy Awards for Best Female Improviser. She now lives in Toronto and is an in-demand comedy and award-show writer. Denise Jones is the former Artistic Director of Vancouver Theatresports who was nominated for a Leo Award for her performance opposite James Caan in the feature film Preggoland.
David Milchard recently produced a feature film with John Hamm and is the star of the viral web series Convos With My Two Year Old. Michael Teigen has appeared in almost all of the Air Bud ‘talking dog’ movies and TV shows, including being the lead in the current Netflix hit TV series, Scaredy Cats.
Together, they’re dear friends who love travelling the world and making people laugh. They’re also fun as heck to have a beer with and are the epitome of ‘Canadian nice.’ So come see The Canadian Comedy Distillery and laugh your ass off – por favor. Every Thursday and Saturday night at 6:00 pm in November.
