Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Returning to The Palm Cabaret and Bar for their 5th season, Puerto Vallarta favorites, cello and vocal duo Branden & James, are back with 2 brand-new shows, ‘The Lady Gaga Songbook,’ every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm, and ‘Broadway at the Beach,’ on Sunday nights at 8:00 pm.
As one of the best-selling music artists of all time, Lady Gaga’s music has ranged from pop to jazz, to film soundtracks. Branden & James explore Gaga’s career to date, celebrating her performances with their classical spin and unique charm.
There are many musical surprises that are a delight throughout their performance. Branden’s vocals and piano accompaniment blend beautifully with James’ magnificent cello and harmonies. Their musicianship is simply stunning and their delivery is breathtaking. This is a show you don’t want to miss!
Beginning Sunday, January 3rd, Branden & James bring Broadway to Vallarta in “Broadway At The Beach,” a show full of their favorite moments from musical theater. They’ll share music from Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, West Side Story, Wicked, Sunset Boulevard, Les Misérables, and much more. Broadway musical director, Mark Hartman, will accompany them at the piano.
“We have always loved the music of Broadway. It’s been fun and rewarding to make it fit into our own, quirky, classical style. This show will be a night full of surprises, laughter, and maybe even a few cathartic tears,” says Branden James, a published author & finalist on America’s Got Talent. Australian cellist James Clark quips, “this show is so much fun because we get to play songs from roles that we would never be cast in.”
Branden & James “have become a brand-name in the classical crossover music world alongside the likes of Josh Groban, The Piano Guys and Jackie Evancho” (The Bay Area Reporter, San Francisco.) Since their inception in 2015, the cello and vocal duo have been defying odds by reinventing the rules when it comes to classical crossover music.
Branden says, “people tell us we’re so unique and different. I think that’s what excites us most. We’re actually doing something that hasn’t been done before.”
As a duo, they have travelled around the world playing in concert halls, cabaret venues, and luxury cruise lines. They recently collaborated with Broadway veteran Shoshana Bean on their debut album “Chasing Dreams” and are set to launch a 70-city U.S. tour in 2021-2022.
As individuals, Australian cellist James Clark is an arranger, orchestrater and concert pianist who has played alongside stars such as Idina Menzel & Olivia Newton-John. America’s Got Talent finalist, Branden James, a native of California recently penned his first book, an award-winning memoir, Lyrics of My Life, published in September 2020.
You’ll definitely want to put Branden & James’ extraordinary shows on your must-see list of things to see while in Vallarta. Branden’s voice is beyond compare and James’ musical arrangements and accompaniment are spectacular.
