UTMB® Returns to Puerto Vallarta for Third Consecutive Year

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta has solidified its status as a premier destination for sports tourism, hosting the prestigious UTMB® World Series for the third consecutive year. From November 7th to 9th, the city will welcome elite runners from around the globe for this renowned mountain ultramarathon.

The Ultra-Trail de Mont-Blanc (UTMB), considered one of the most challenging and prestigious trail running events worldwide, has selected Puerto Vallarta as one of its two official venues in Mexico. The coastal city’s diverse landscapes, ranging from rugged mountains to pristine beaches, offer a unique and demanding challenge for athletes.

This year’s Puerto Vallarta Mexico By UTMB event will showcase the region’s natural beauty, taking runners through lush agave plantations, scenic mountain trails, and along the picturesque Malecón. The race’s finale will feature a colorful celebration, complete with traditional Day of the Dead decorations and the world’s tallest Catrina, creating a memorable experience for both participants and spectators.

The event features a variety of race distances to accommodate runners of all levels, including the challenging Wixárika (147 km), Hikuri (95 km), Nakawé (49 km), Haramara (33 km), Ereno (20 km), and Pata Salada (8 km).
