Xiutla Folklorico Dance Group Celebrates 30 Years of Tradition

Puerto Vallarta’s Xiutla Municipal Folkloric Dance Group reaches a remarkable milestone in 2024 – three decades of promoting Mexican culture with passion and artistry. Founded on July 27, 1994 by Professor Enrique Barrios y Limón, Xiutla has blossomed from a children’s program into a cherished institution, fostering a deep appreciation for folklore in Puerto Vallarta’s youth.

With unwavering support from the municipal government, Xiutla has embarked on an impressive artistic journey. They have captivated audiences across the globe, performing in over 40 tours and 3,700 captivating presentations throughout Latin America, the United States, Europe, and Asia. The group’s extensive repertoire, encompassing dances from all regions of Mexico, is a testament to their dedication to preserving and showcasing the nation’s rich cultural tapestry.

“This anniversary is something special because it was an arduous journey at times but we made it through the 30 years with success and pride for our accomplishments,” said Barrios y Limón.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, Xiutla invites the community to a celebratory Gala performance on Sunday, July 21st at 5:00 pm at Teatro Vallarta. Witness the group’s vibrant energy and artistic excellence as they take the stage for an unforgettable evening.
