Major Improvements Underway for Puerto Vallarta’s Colosio Bypass

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The Luis Donaldo Colosio Highway Bypass in Puerto Vallarta is undergoing significant improvements due to its poor condition, as announced last Thursday by Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro Ramírez. The goal is to enhance the infrastructure of this vital road, used daily by thousands of motorists.

Governor Alfaro stated on his social media, “Anyone who has traveled through the Puerto Vallarta bypass knows it’s in terrible shape. Years of neglect have caused structural damage to the road surface and drainage systems, but we’re addressing this now.” The governor did not disclose the total investment amount.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works (SIOP) has started work to improve the bypass. This includes removing landslides, thoroughly cleaning the area, replacing gutters, installing metal barriers, and repairing potholes and curbs. Additionally, a new asphalt layer will be applied, and both horizontal and vertical signage will be upgraded.

The primary aim is to complete these improvements quickly to minimize inconvenience for users and ensure the road is safe and functional. Governor Alfaro emphasized the urgency and commitment to finishing the work promptly.
