This year, the 2024 Marsh Award for International Plant Conservation has been awarded to Jesús Reyes García from Puerto Vallarta!
Jesús Reyes García is the Director of Vallarta Botanical Garden (VBG), an esteemed environmental organization in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. For over 19 years, VBG has been committed to studying, preserving, and showcasing Mexican native plants for both locals and international visitors. Under Jesús’s leadership, VBG has become a top conservation leader in Mexico.
Jesús’s journey began with a self-taught approach to building the VBG infrastructure.
