Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The coastal city of Puerto Vallarta is preparing to host the prestigious Mexico Open at VidantaWorld for the fourth consecutive year, from February 20th to 23rd, 2025.
The Mexico Open, a national championship event, has steadily gained prominence since its inclusion on the PGA Tour in 2022. In 2023, Tony Finau won the Mexico Open. Last year, 29-year-old rookie sensation Jake Knapp secured his first PGA Tour victory at the Vidanta World course, adding to the tournament’s growing allure.
In a recent meeting between event organizers and local authorities, plans were finalized to ensure another smooth and successful tournament. Andrés González Palomera, Cabinet Coordinator of the City Council, reaffirmed the city’s commitment to providing the necessary support, permits, and protocols to host this world-class event.
Ricardo Cortés, director of the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld, highlighted the tournament’s significant economic impact on Puerto Vallarta. With thousands of national and international visitors flocking to the city, the event generates substantial revenue and elevates Puerto Vallarta’s global profile.
Luis Villaseñor, from the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, invited golf enthusiasts to experience the tournament firsthand. “This is the most important golf tournament in our country,” he said. “Now is the time to book your trip to Puerto Vallarta and witness the world’s best golfers in action.”
With its stunning golf courses, luxurious hotels, and diverse culinary scene, Puerto Vallarta is an ideal destination for golf lovers. The city’s commitment to hosting world-class sporting events solidifies its position as a premier luxury destination in the Mexican Pacific.
