Jalisco Airports Report 6.7M Passengers, 6% Growth in Q1 2025

Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico – In the first three months of 2025, Jalisco’s airports in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta saw a total of 6.7 million passengers, a 6 percent rise compared to the same period in the previous year. This data, provided by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), highlights the state’s strong position as a tourist destination.

The Guadalajara International Airport was the busier of the two, serving 4.5 million passengers, or 68 percent of the total for Jalisco. The majority of these passengers, 67 percent, were on domestic flights, while 33 percent traveled internationally. The airport recorded 33,406 aircraft takeoffs and landings during this period.

Puerto Vallarta International Airport handled 2.1 million passengers, making up 32 percent of the state’s total. In contrast to Guadalajara, a larger percentage of travelers in Puerto Vallarta were on international flights (69 percent), with 31 percent on domestic routes. This airport reported 17,866 flight operations during the first quarter.

March was the peak month for passenger traffic, with both airports collectively handling 2.3 million people, a 7.2 percent rise from March 2024. Guadalajara Airport saw about 1.6 million passengers, a 10 percent increase, while Puerto Vallarta accommodated 763,000 passengers.

These passenger numbers reflect the ongoing strength of Jalisco as a popular destination for both domestic and international travelers, supported by its available air travel connections.
