Baja California – Puerto Vallarta is taking part in the 2025 Tianguis Turístico México, the country’s top tourism industry event, which began Monday, April 28. This year’s edition is historic, as it is the first to be held in both Mexico and the United States.
The primary location for the Tianguis Turístico México is the Baja California Center in Rosarito Beach, with supplementary activities taking place in Tijuana and San Diego, California.
A new component of the Tianguis Turístico México this year was the “Window to Mexico” festival in San Diego’s Liberty Station. This event provided a platform for 28 Mexican states, including Jalisco, to showcase their culture and cuisine to the American market.

Puerto Vallarta is part of the Jalisco delegation, which is headed by the state’s Ministry of Tourism, led by Michell Friedman. Alejandra Cornejo Cornejo, the Director of Tourism for Puerto Vallarta’s municipal government, indicated that the delegation includes representatives from 19 companies, 13 exhibitors, and the Tourism Trust of this Pacific coast destination.
Councilwoman Melissa Madero, who chairs the Tourism Services and Visitor Relations Commission, is also representing Puerto Vallarta. Her objectives are to promote the city to international buyers, establish strategic partnerships, and stimulate investment in tourism. She was invited by Baja California’s Secretary of Tourism and designated by Puerto Vallarta’s mayor, Luis Munguía.
The event, which continues until May 1st, anticipates over 15,000 attendees, including 924 buyers, 624 companies, and representatives from 26 countries. More than 20,000 business meetings are scheduled, with commercial contract signings involving travel agencies and international airlines.
Puerto Vallarta’s involvement in the 2025 Tianguis Turístico México underscores its dedication to fostering innovation, connectivity, and sustainable development, thereby solidifying its status as a leading international tourist destination in Mexico.
