Documentary Showcasing Puerto Vallarta’s Beauty on Prime Video

Puerto Vallarta is making a splash on the global stage following the release of the documentary film La Bahía de Mi Vida (“The Bay of My Life”) on Prime Video. This significant achievement is further solidifying the city’s reputation as a leading international tourist destination.

Directed by Mati Covarrubias, the film offers a sincere and personal exploration of Puerto Vallarta’s stunning natural wonders and its breathtaking surroundings.

La Bahía de Mi Vida delves into the essential relationship between humanity and nature, featuring the inspiring stories of individuals dedicated to preserving the area’s natural treasures. The documentary showcases the profound beauty of the Bay of Banderas, embodying the growing global focus on nature conservation.

The documentary’s availability on a major streaming platform marks a major milestone for Puerto Vallarta. Director Covarrubias noted the achievement is particularly remarkable considering that only about 10 out of the 300 films produced annually in Mexico manage to reach global platforms.

The film can currently be rented or purchased on Prime Video in Mexico, the United States, Canada, and England, opening the possibility of reaching an audience of up to 200 million subscribers. To ensure its broad international reach, the film has already been dubbed into multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

In a 2024 interview, Covarrubias shared that the experience has been incredibly rewarding, with overwhelming support for their portrayal of the city’s stunning landscapes. She emphasized the privilege of living in a place that deeply resonates with the movement toward conservation.

Mayor Luis Munguía congratulated Covarrubias and her team on this impressive work, recognizing it as a demonstration of Puerto Vallarta’s significant tourism potential. He stated that the documentary is yet another example of the natural beauty of the destination and the exceptional talent of its artists.

The current administration, committed to good governance, has pledged unwavering support for culture and tourism, promising to work tirelessly to ensure Puerto Vallarta remains a destination with substantial appeal.

With La Bahía de Mi Vida now easily accessible to a worldwide audience, Puerto Vallarta continues to proudly showcase its natural and cultural richness.
