Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Mexico’s premier shopping holiday, El Buen Fin, launched yesterday and is set to run until November 17th, promising what experts anticipate will be its largest iteration yet. This fifteenth annual event aims to surpass the record-breaking sales of 2024, signaling a robust outlook for the nation’s economy.
This government-supported initiative, whose name translates to “The Good Weekend,” began in 2011, drawing inspiration from the successful Black Friday model in the United States. Its strategic timing, coinciding with the Mexican Revolution Day holiday, has cemented El Buen Fin as a key moment for both economic stimulation and consumer benefit.
More than 10,000 businesses are participating this year, according to the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce (CONCANACO). Retailers across all sectors—electronics, fashion, appliances, home goods, and services—are delivering discounts, interest-free installment plans, and exclusive promotions over the five-day event.
Shoppers can find excellent value across thousands of retailers on virtually every category, from essential electronics and contemporary fashion to furnishings and diverse services. The retail sector projects that sales could exceed an impressive 141 billion pesos, largely propelled by strong online purchasing and the continued resurgence of consumer spending across the country.
Major chains and digital platforms are once again leading the charge. Shoppers can expect deals from Liverpool, Palacio de Hierro, Sears, Coppel, Suburbia, Sanborns, Walmart, Soriana, Chedraui, Sam’s Club, Costco, Amazon Mexico, and Mercado Libre. Popular brands such as Zara, Bershka, Nike, Adidas, Samsung, and Apple are also participating, drawing strong attention from consumers seeking holiday gifts.
The most sought-after product categories include technology gadgets, appliances, fashion, footwear, furniture, toys, and beauty products, in addition to travel packages. Banks are also contributing by offering cash bonuses and no-interest installment options for credit card purchases, making this the ideal time for consumers to get a confident start on their Christmas gift planning.
To help shoppers identify official participants, the event’s organizers are once again offering the Buscador de Comercios Participantes, available at elbuenfin.org. By entering a store name or product category, consumers can confirm whether a retailer is registered and review authorized promotions. This tool is especially valuable for avoiding scams or misleading websites that tend to appear during periods of heavy commercial activity.
As El Buen Fin unfolds, experts encourage consumers to compare prices, review offer terms, and purchase responsibly. With thousands of authorized retailers offering discounts, informed shopping remains the key to taking full advantage of Mexico’s biggest sales event of the year.
