Puerto Vallarta, México – American Idol finalist and two-time BroadwayWorld Award winner Ava Nicole Frances will make her Puerto Vallarta debut on Friday, January 23, when she brings The Dream That I See to The Palm Cabaret. The one-night-only performance begins at 7 pm and is presented as part of the Bella Vox Performing Arts Series.
Inspired by artists such as Renee Rapp, Beyoncé, Linda Ronstadt, Ben Platt, and Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz, The Dream That I See showcases Ava’s ability to move with ease between pop, Broadway, jazz, and the American Songbook. Designed especially for Puerto Vallarta audiences, the show highlights her soaring vocals, emotional storytelling, and confident stage presence.
Born in Arizona and raised in San Francisco by her two dads, Ava is of Native American and Mexican heritage. She began performing at just ten years old and has since appeared on stages across the United States and Europe. Now based in New York City, she continues to build a career as an actor, singer, and songwriter.
Ava is a two-time BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award winner and a Manhattan Association of Cabaret (MAC) Award nominee for her original song “Little Did I Know.” She is also a recipient of the Michael Feinstein Songbook Academy Spotlight Award and a top-five finalist in BroadwayWorld’s Next on Broadway competition. Television audiences may recognize her from season 22 of American Idol, where she placed in the top 56 out of more than 70,000 contestants.
A graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Ava released two albums in 2025: I Can’t Play with Flowers and The Dream That I See, Live at The Green Room 42. Her work has earned high praise, including a “10 out of 10” rating from Cabaret Scenes and “Nothing less than breathtaking” from BroadwayWorld.
In addition to her Palm Cabaret appearance, Ava will perform a small set at the Vallarta School for Girls, where she will speak with students about her experience on American Idol and her journey as a young performer.
