Puerto Vallarta Mayor Working to Improve Life in Las Mojoneras

Puerto Vallarta, México – Residents of Las Mojoneras recently welcomed Mayor Luis Munguía as part of the ongoing “Route of Good” initiative, a program designed to bridge the gap between municipal leadership and local neighborhoods. The visit centered on a productive work session where the mayor engaged directly with community members to identify their most pressing needs. By prioritizing these firsthand conversations, the administration aims to foster a more responsive government that addresses the unique challenges of each district.

A major highlight of the tour was an inspection of the Dr. Tucán Clinic, which is currently nearing completion. This facility represents a significant expansion of the municipal health system, which already provides free medical consultations through two permanent locations and a mobile unit. Once the Dr. Tucán Clinic opens its doors, it will bolster the city’s ability to offer essential healthcare services to families at no cost, ensuring that medical support remains accessible to all.

Community development extended beyond healthcare during this visit, as the mayor shared plans for upcoming infrastructure improvements. The main square of Las Mojoneras is set to receive a new dome over its multi-purpose court later this year. This addition is expected to transform the area into a more versatile space for sports and social gatherings, providing protection from the elements and encouraging local families to utilize the public square more frequently.

The session also brought encouraging news regarding financial recovery efforts for those impacted by previous weather events. Mayor Munguía announced that aid checks from the State Natural Disaster Fund (FOEDEN) will soon be distributed to families who suffered losses due to flooding. These funds are intended to provide much-needed relief to households in Las Mojoneras and surrounding neighborhoods as they continue to rebuild.

Through the “Route of Good,” the municipal government maintains its commitment to active presence within the community. By combining infrastructure inspections with direct dialogue and the delivery of essential aid, the city continues to implement solutions that improve the daily lives of its citizens.
