Puerto Vallarta, México – The Instituto de Artes Musicales Puerto Vallarta (IAMPV) has announced two upcoming performances by the Orquesta Sinfónica Vallarta (OSV), inviting audiences to experience an evening of powerful emotion and timeless music. The concerts, titled Mil y un pasiones (“A Thousand and One Passions”), will take place on March 22 and 23, 2026.
Conducted by Maestro Aquiles Morales, the program explores the many sides of the human spirit through a rich selection of classical works. From tenderness and reflection to drama and triumph, the concert is designed to guide listeners through a wide range of emotions brought to life by the full symphonic orchestra.
The repertoire includes several beloved pieces from the classical canon. Among them is Gabriel Fauré’s graceful Pavane, along with the deeply moving Intermezzo from Pietro Mascagni’s opera Cavalleria Rusticana. Audiences will also hear the famous Carmen Overture by Georges Bizet and the memorable swan theme from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake.
Additional highlights include “The Story of the Kalendar Prince” from Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s colorful Scheherazade suite and the dramatic first movement of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 40. The program also features the noble Nimrod variation from Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations and the majestic Chaconne in E minor by Dietrich Buxtehude, presented in an orchestration by Mexican composer Carlos Chávez.
Together, these works form a program that reflects the many dimensions of human emotion – love, melancholy, joy, intensity, and contemplation – while showcasing the Vallarta Symphony Orchestra’s expressive range.
The first performance will take place on Sunday, March 22 at 7:00 pm at the American School of Puerto Vallarta. The second concert will follow on Monday, March 23 at 7:00 pm at Salón Paraíso in Nuevo Nayarit.
Tickets are priced at $400 pesos for adults, $350 pesos for seniors and $150 pesos for children and students. Tickets can be purchased online for a small fee through the IAMPV website or at iampv.simpletix.com.
