Jalisco Leads Mexico’s Export Growth with Record B

Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico – Jalisco has officially secured its position as Mexico’s premier exporting powerhouse among the country’s interior states.

According to the latest data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the region generated an impressive $52.57 billion in export revenue throughout 2025. This achievement represents a remarkable 66% annual growth rate, a pace that is nearly nine times higher than the national average and underscores the state’s rising influence in global trade.

Jalisco now accounts for approximately 9% of Mexico’s total exports. This success is particularly noteworthy because the state does not share a physical border with the United States, yet it has successfully outperformed traditional northern shipping hubs like Sonora and Tamaulipas in national rankings. The shift highlights a transition in the economic landscape, where strategic location is being matched by industrial innovation.

The primary engine behind this historic surge is the high-tech manufacturing sector. Computer equipment production alone makes up more than 70% of the state’s total exports, firmly establishing the region as one of the country’s most significant technological centers. This concentration of expertise has attracted international investment and fostered a specialized workforce capable of meeting high global demand.

While technology leads the way, the state’s economic strength is built on a foundation of variety. Strategic industries including agribusiness, plastic manufacturing, and beverage production continue to expand, providing a resilient cushion against market fluctuations. This diverse productive base ensures that the local economy remains stable even as specific sectors evolve.

Ultimately, these record-breaking figures represent more than just financial gain; they reflect a growing international confidence in local talent and craftsmanship. By exporting high-value goods and sophisticated technology, Jalisco is cementing its role as a vital economic motor for Mexico and a reliable partner in the global marketplace.
