Nayarit Sails Towards the 2026 CONADE National Games

Nuevo Nayarit, Mexico – With their sights set on the podium and the wind at their backs, the official sailing delegation of the state of Nayarit is ready to compete in the upcoming 2026 CONADE National Games, which will take place in the state of Yucatán from May 7 to 10.

This group of athletes, composed of talented young people who have trained diligently in the waters of Banderas Bay, represents not only the sport itself, but also the success of an alliance between the Government of the State of Nayarit and the Vallarta Yacht Club, as they have joined forces to position the region as a national leader in the development of high-performance sailors.

A Delegation of Excellence
The team is made up of athletes from the VYC’s Junior Sailing program and the La Cruz Sailing School who have excelled in various qualifying circuits, divided into the following categories:

  • Optimist Class: José Gabriel Huerta Rocha, Kinan Bourquin Medina, Gael Uribe Peña, Liam Hardy Dueñas, Victoria Silva Medina, Sofía Silva Medina, María José Servín Sánchez, Carmina Zárate Samu, Lucas Jack Uribe, and Mathías Uribe Peña.
  • ILCA Class: Diego Rodríguez Altamirano, Axel Argott Zúñiga, Antoine Ganem Núñez, Inti Bourquin Medina, Sanka Wari Bourquin Medina, Santiago Nicolas Palomera Quintana, and Xavier Nadal Porter Palle.

Leadership and Professionalism
Behind these young people is a top-level coaching staff, led by coaches Carlos Sainz Meza, Yann Frédéric Bourquin, and Keyla Darani Hernández Oviedo, with their Delegate, José Silva Juárez. Also noteworthy is the participation of Bart Godell, who will serve as Race Officer for the ILCA Circuit, reaffirming the international prestige of the officials trained and associated with the Vallarta Yacht Club.

Promotion of Regional Sports
The Vallarta Yacht Club board and state sports authorities agree that sailing is a fundamental pillar for the development of Nayarit’s youth.
