Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (The Pacific Airport Group or GAP) has announced a significant investment of one million dollars dedicated to boosting tourism in Puerto Vallarta. Omar Gildardo Torres Grajeda, the administrator of the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, shared that this strategic funding is a collaborative effort designed to expand the destination’s reach in key global markets.
To ensure the campaign achieves its highest potential, the strategy is being organized through a partnership involving the federal Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) and the Ministry of Tourism of Jalisco (Secturjal). Each participating organization is contributing its own resources and expertise to pinpoint exactly where and how to deploy the marketing initiatives.
Because the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust operates as part of the state’s tourism ministry and possesses extensive experience in regional hospitality marketing, they will be directly managing the funds. Torres Grajeda emphasized that placing these financial resources into the capable hands of these seasoned professionals ensures the campaign will be executed with precision.
This funding injection arrives at a time of unique international potential for the coastal destination. Market analysts note that shifting travel trends in competitive regions, such as Cuba’s recent decline in Canadian tourism share, open up fresh opportunities for Mexico’s Pacific coast.
Puerto Vallarta is well-positioned to welcome these travelers who are actively searching for alternative sun-and-beach destinations. Specialized teams focused on route development are already working to identify these precise promotional niches to invite new visitors to the region.
Looking forward, the broader route strategy will continue to be managed by the GAP Airports Division. The group plans to prominently showcase Puerto Vallarta’s growing accessibility and attractions at all upcoming international tourism fairs, working hand-in-hand with industry authorities to maintain the destination’s upward momentum.
