Champions Crowned at V Mexican Beach Volleyball Championship

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The V Mexican Beach Volleyball Championship Puerto Vallarta 2024 concluded on a high note on Sunday, with thrilling finals in all competition categories. The event, which kicked off on Friday, was held on the beautiful Holi Beach and attracted a large and enthusiastic crowd of fans.

In an exciting display of talent, Lombardo Ontiveros and Jorman Osuna from Sinaloa clinched the top spot in the men’s division, while the dynamic twin duo Vanessa and Giselle Chay from Veracruz triumphed in the women’s division. This prestigious tournament brought together 110 teams from 15 states across the country, competing in Professional (Free), Youth Under 18, and Under 16 categories for both men and women.

In the free women’s category, the team of Paola Pintao and Valeria Bautista from Michoacán secured second place, with Claudia Galindo and Laura Arscarpeta from Colombia taking third. In the free men’s category, the local favorites André Rodríguez and Elieser Martinez from Vallarta won the silver medal, while Daniel Rodríguez and Juan Ramírez from TP Invictus earned the bronze medal.

During the awards ceremony, Tania Selenne Maya Toscano, representing interim mayor Francisco José Martínez Gil, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their dedication and effort. She emphasized the significance of hosting high-level sporting events in boosting the tourism appeal of Puerto Vallarta. “This competition brings together the best players in the national ranking and is truly a celebration of life, offering great moments. Events like these uplift the spirit and promote sports as a way of life among children and youth,” she remarked.

Joining the ceremony were several notable figures, including Christian Preciado Cázares, director of Tourism and Economic Development; Vicente Ramos Mora, of the Municipal Sports Council (COMUDE); José Amador Hernández Madrigal, from the CODE Jalisco liaison office in the Costa Sierra Occidental region; Laura Almaral Palafox, director of the LARX Sports Promoter; Sujey Cárdenas, director of Public Relations and Promotion of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust; Gabriel Igartúa Sánchez, general director of the Las Palmas by The Sea hotel; and Gustavo Fong, director of Municipal Sports of CODE Jalisco.

The event was a resounding success, showcasing top-notch volleyball talent and celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship in a stunning coastal setting.
