Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Back for her 9th season of entertaining audiences in Puerto Vallarta, Hedda Lettuce, The Queen of Green, delivers her special brand of wild, hysterical comedy. Hedda has a loyal following of fans wherever she performs due to her quick wit and clever parodies along with the always charming, sometimes outrageous character that she portrays. This season, Hedda Lettuce Shaves the Day is featured every Wednesday at 8 pm at The Palm Cabaret.
Most of the show was streaming improv comedy that played off the audience. To pull off a show like this, the entertainer has to be incredibly sharp. Hedda kept it coming all night long and, from the looks on people’s faces, there wasn’t a disappointed person in the audience.
Six-time Drag Queen of the Year Award-winner, this dazzling, legendary “Green Goddess” of drag entertained us with wild stories, witty comebacks, audience banter and some pretty fine singing. Hedda Lettuce proved why she is one of Vallarta’s premiere drag queens and an audience favorite.
Hedda has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central and MTV. She’s also been featured in films, commercials and in off-Broadway projects. She’s performed with stars like Sarah Jessica Parker, Tyra Banks, Vanessa Williams and Madonna and appeared on such television shows as Project Runway and Sex and the City. Michael Musto, American Journalist and writer for OUT.com, has crowned Hedda, “The undisputed grand dame of the drag comedy set.”
Hedda opened the show on Wednesday with one of her signature songs about being The Queen of Green. In the lyrics, she delighted the audience with her silly, lovable, funny and endearing character. Hedda Lettuce is a little bit like an elite, opinionated NYC lady, which only adds to her flamboyant and comical persona.
Her parody of “Keep Your Eye on the Grand Ol’ Flag” (Drag) was side-splitting comedy! She entertained the crowd with an embellished tale of her introduction to Puerto Vallarta on a cruise ship. And we laughed ourselves silly with her “Chick with a Shtick” song. Innuendo was abundant throughout the performance as Hedda kept us laughing non-stop with her wild parodies, razor-sharp improv and hysterical rants on subjects like ‘retirement.’
With multiple standing ovations and enthusiastic applause, The Queen of Green showed us once again why she rules the night when it comes to laughs!
