Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Miss Butterfly, the famous drag queen of Montreal’s nightlife, celebrates 24 years of Drag Entertainment this year! The debut of Miss Butterfly – The Butterfly Effect was packed with enthusiastic fans last Sunday night as she fluttered on stage with her strong, impressive opening number, “Dancing Queen.” She guaranteed to make us feel sensations without touching us and delivered on that promise!
Born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1980, Miss Butterfly has called Montreal home for 33 years. Thanks to her roots, she has an outstanding ability to speak multiple languages. She regularly speaks four, but can do a lot more in 18 different languages! She has performed in Boston, New York, Florida and several Canadian cities, but she is well-known for the show she puts on every year in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where she enjoys warm winters.
Proud ambassador of various corporate organizations, brilliant performer of the Just For Laughs show at the Théâtre St Denis and a sought-after artist in the field of events and advertising, she has it all; good looks, charm & charisma, humor, confidence, and professional choreographed shows that her audiences love. There’s just something special about this French-Canadian Queen who endears herself to the crowd and makes people return again and again.
As a visual artist, she dazzles every time with her eclectic performances that range from Cabaret to house music. When you do catch her live, or live lip sync, don’t blink! Otherwise, you might miss a quick change or a wig flip that you never see ahead!
I had no idea what to expect from Miss Butterfly, the first time I saw her last season, but I became an instant fan, enjoying a raucous good time! In all her glory, she emerges to take us on a hilarious hour-and-a-half journey. With 2 gorgeous dancers, (Sebastian and Alex) and what seems like a zillion incredible costumes, there is hardly a moment to catch our breath as Miss B. slays us with her outrageous humor and her wild and crazy take on everything.
Her banter with the audience is priceless and the elaborate costumes that she struts around in as she parodies some of our favorite songs and characters are simply spectacular! There is a hilarious Dolly Parton parody along with an Abba segment and a fabulous tribute to John Lennon’s Imagine. You’ll also hear a beautiful French song along with several medleys of popular music and an elegant performance of the hit song, Kings and Queen. She even includes the popular Madonna song, Let Your Body Move to the Music.
You’ll experience fantastic, sophisticated videos playing in the background that enhance the performance. Her final butterfly costume is another exquisite wardrobe triumph and you’ll hate to see this elegant, sexy, stunning Queen end her show, but she is likely to bless you with an encore!
And yes, Miss Butterfly is downright gorgeous, no matter what your gender or orientation is. She rocks those legs like no other Drag Queen I’ve ever seen. This sexy Queen from Montreal effortlessly communicates in 4 languages, but the best language of all is laughter and she’s a pro at making her audience howl.
The sequins, feathers and incredibly creative and gorgeous costumes are a thrill throughout the performance. Yes, she lip-syncs, but carries the show just fine with her wild outlook, outrageous remarks, audience banter, sexy moves and out-of-this-world costume changes (20 to be exact). Miss Butterfly will sweep you up in her comedy wings and give you a roaring good time!
The audience enthusiasm last week was off the charts as people cheered, clapped, howled and applauded throughout Miss Butterfly’s debut performance. This season’s show is a success, so get your tickets early because the performance is sure to sell-out again and again.
