Puerto Vallarta & Guadalajara Promoted in the Czech Republic

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust and the Guadalajara Convention and Visitors Bureau are wrapping up a promotional caravan across several cities in the Czech Republic. Prague, Hradec Králové, Ostrava, and Brno were all on the itinerary, with the goal of showcasing the combined offerings of these two Jalisco destinations.

Representatives from fourteen hotels in Puerto Vallarta, encompassing a range of options from Vamar Vallarta to Pescador and Costa Sur, were also part of the delegation. Training sessions were conducted for over 400 travel advisors with the assistance of Czech tour operator Der Touristik. These sessions highlighted Puerto Vallarta’s key attractions, including its pristine beaches and diverse hotel options.

The training also introduced the PV Specialist program, an online course designed to equip travel advisors with in-depth destination knowledge and specialist certification. Sujey Cárdenas, representing the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, emphasized the positive response and strong interest in exploring this vibrant Mexican destination. Cárdenas noted existing reservations and expressed hope that the training sessions would lead to further bookings for participating hotels.

Beyond the training sessions, a multifaceted marketing campaign was implemented to strengthen the Puerto Vallarta brand. This included advertising at Prague Airport, trams, television channels, and print media. Der Touristik’s social media platforms were also leveraged, and targeted email campaigns were sent to their extensive customer database. Notably, Der Touristik is the second-largest European tourism group, and their Eastern European division, operating under the Fischer and Exim Tours trademarks, will be handling the marketing of flights to Puerto Vallarta.

A new six-month seasonal route will be established, with weekly flights departing Prague for Puerto Vallarta every Tuesday between October 2024 and April 2025. The promotional efforts aim to solidify this route, ensuring its continuation in the following years.

The promotion extended beyond Puerto Vallarta to encompass the broader Jalisco region. By highlighting the newly built highway that reduces travel time between the two cities to under three hours, the campaign aimed to position Guadalajara, the state capital, as an attractive add-on destination.

This historic city, known as the birthplace of tequila, mariachi music and charrería (Mexican equestrian tradition), was further showcased through presentations that concluded with tequila tastings provided by the Tequila Regulatory Council. The delegation also visited Der Touristik’s sales offices situated in key shopping centers across Prague.
