Puerto Vallarta to Welcome 10 International Cruise Ships in May

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta expects a busy May with 10 international cruise ships scheduled to dock, bringing thousands of passengers and a significant economic boost. The month kicked off on May 1st with the arrival of the Celebrity Summit, a colossal vessel stretching 293 meters.

Following the Celebrity Summit, the MS Island Princess, another impressive ship measuring 294 meters, arrives on May 6th. The next day, the even larger Carnival Panorama (324 meters) makes its appearance.

The third week of May sees the return of the MS Island Princess to Pier 1 on Sunday the 12th. The following Tuesday, the 14th, promises a double arrival. Navigator of the Seas, a 311-meter giant, arrives first at Pier 2, followed shortly after by Carnival Panorama at Pier 3.

The final stretch of May continues the trend. Carnival Panorama returns on the 21st. The last week features the return of Navigator of the Seas to Pier 1 on the 28th, and Carnival Panorama caps off the month with another visit on the 30th.

This influx of cruise ships follows a strong start to the year for Puerto Vallarta’s tourism industry. According to information from the Administration of the National Port System Puerto Vallarta SA de CV (Asipona Vallarta), by April, 81 ships had already visited this popular cruise destination, generating an economic impact of nearly 11.5 billion pesos in the first quarter of 2024 alone.
