Tropicasa Vallarta COVID 19 Home Safety

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – With everyone’s social media feed bombarded with COVID-19 information and misinformation, we felt it would be helpful to our friends, team members, clients and families to post the latest recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Ministry of Health in Mexico.

• Social distance when possible and avoid those who are sick. Now is a good time to stay at home as much as you are able and to avoid crowded areas.

• Keep your home surfaces clean using bleach. Pay particular attention to counter tops, door handles, floors, kitchen and bathroom faucets, tables, light switches, remote controls – anything that is frequently touched in your home.

• If you have several people living in your home, consider in advance a separate room for sick household members, to isolate them from the rest of the family.

• Although hand sanitizer is not currently available in stores, the best practice is always washing your hands with soap and warm water for at least a full 20 seconds. Don’t forget your thumbs and try to avoid touching your face as much as possible.

For those that don’t speak Spanish, a good English language newspaper to follow the latest Covid 19 updates in Mexico is eluniversal.com.mx. You can also check the Ministry of Health website for information in Spanish.

Having been part of the Puerto Vallarta community for well over 20 years, we would like to both advise our readers to use best practices to stay healthy and share our confidence in the ability and preparedness of the Ministry of Health to protect our community.

Since 2003, Mexico has had a National Preparedness and Response Plan for Influenza Pandemic, which is regarded as a leading healthcare protocol worldwide.

We hope that everyone will remain calm, as we are, but as good neighbors, take the steps needed to protect your health and the health of others and to prepare your home with a reasonable amount of resources for your own use, allowing access to necessities for all in our community.
