Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta is currently abuzz with the inaugural National Meeting of Children’s and Youth Orchestras, running from April 1st to 6th, 2024. Over 60 talented young musicians from eleven orchestras across Mexico have gathered to participate in this event.
Organized by the Orquesta Escuela de Puerto Vallarta AC in collaboration with the municipal government, this week-long gathering aims to facilitate artistic exchange and development among young musicians. Students hailing from various regions including Mexico City, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacán, Puebla, and Querétaro are participating, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
Hosted primarily at the University of Valle de Atemajac (UNIVA), the event features instrument-specific classes, full orchestra rehearsals, lectures, and masterclasses conducted by renowned figures in the music industry.
The climax of the event includes two significant public performances. The first is a Gala Concert on April 5th at Teatro Vallarta, where a hundred young musicians will showcase their talents collectively. The grand finale takes place on April 6th at the Los Arcos del Malecón amphitheater, offering a memorable experience against the backdrop of a picturesque evening sky.
More than just a music event, this gathering serves as a celebration of youthful potential and the power of artistic collaboration. The Orquesta Escuela de Puerto Vallarta AC, established in 2012 with the aim of promoting social development and cultural growth through music education, proudly spearheads and hosts this national event, providing a platform for Vallarta’s youth to shine on a larger scale.
