Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The Puerto Vallarta Civil Protection and Fire Department, in coordination with municipal, state, and federal authorities, has launched the Programa Operativo Semana Santa y Pascua 2025 (Holy Week and Easter Operational Program).
This initiative, backed by Mayor Luis Munguía, aims to safeguard both residents and tourists while maintaining clean and organized public spaces. Emergency services, local businesses, and volunteers are also joining the effort to provide seamless support throughout the festivities.
A dedicated team of over 190 officers will be strategically positioned throughout the municipality, providing focused attention to popular beaches like Playa de Oro, Holi, Camarones, Mismaloya, and Boca de Tomatlán. Surveillance will also extend to the the Mascota, Cuale, and Pitillal rivers, as well as mountainous regions, religious centers, and recreational areas. To support these efforts, a fleet of ambulances, rescue vehicles, boats, and all-terrain vehicles, along with skilled personnel, will be readily available for swift response on both land and sea.
Businesses within the bustling tourist zones will undergo monitoring to ensure proper permits and adherence to operating hours, contributing to an organized environment. Recognizing the anticipated increase in waste, intensified cleanup initiatives will be implemented to help keep Puerto Vallarta’s streets and beaches clean.
The operation will receive crucial support from the Red Cross, which will deploy ambulances, paramedics, and volunteers at strategic locations such as the Malecón, offering readily accessible medical assistance. Municipal Transit officers will conduct patrols and enforce preventive breathalyzer tests to enhance road safety, and the Inspection and Regulations Directorate will oversee alcohol sales in beach restaurants and businesses.
All these coordinated actions will be directed from a central Emergency Operations Center, fostering seamless communication and efficient resource allocation. Neighboring municipalities, including San Sebastián del Oeste and Cabo Corrientes, will also lend their support to this collaborative endeavor.
In the spirit of community well-being, citizens are encouraged to embrace responsible practices throughout the holiday period. This includes refraining from driving under the influence of alcohol, adhering to posted speed limits, closely supervising children and elderly individuals, avoiding open fires in wooded areas, properly disposing of waste, and diligently following the guidance of emergency personnel.
